About the event
Caracaxa is mandolinist/violinist Wayne Clark and 7-string guitarist Alan Simcoe. The backbone of their music is the ur-Brazilian genre, Choro.
Choro has developed since the mid 19th century to spawn more familiar types of Brazilian music such as Samba and Bossa Nova, which, BTW, they also play.Listeners will enjoy the bluegrass like textures and Dixieland tinged harmonies of Choro. Fast tempos and joyful interplay are part of the mix.
